Tesla App 4.55.7 Unleashed: Format USB Drives from Your Phone and Meet "Pet Mode"! (image)

Tesla’s latest mobile update, version 4.55.7, significantly enhances how owners interact with their vehicles remotely. This release bridges the gap between your smartphone and the vehicle's infotainment system like never before. From managing dashcam storage to browsing your digital sketches, this update brings a suite of creative and utility features to your pocket. You can find the full Tesla App 4.55.7 Release Notes for a detailed technical breakdown.

1. Remote USB Drive Formatting

Tesla has added a highly requested feature for managing vehicle storage. You can now format your USB drive directly through the mobile app. Previously, this task required sitting inside the car.

This is a lifesaver if your driver encounters an error while you are away. It allows you to ensure your Dashcam and Sentry Mode are always ready to record.

2. The New "Creations" Hub

Tesla is consolidating its creative tools into a single tab called "Creations." This section replaces the old Photobooth folder and adds support for the vehicle's Sketchpad.

  • View and Share: Access your saved Photobooth photos and digital sketches remotely.

  • Requirements: This feature requires the vehicle to have an AMD Ryzen processor.

  • Privacy: Sketches are stored locally in the car. Tesla cannot access your drawings.

  • Connectivity: Your phone must be set up as a Phone Key to view these files.

When you open this tab, your Tesla will wake up to send the images to your phone. This allows for instant sharing to social media or saving to your personal device.

3. Dashcam Telemetry Overlays

Sharing your Dashcam clips just got much more professional. Downloaded videos now include a telemetry overlay directly on the file.

This new in-app overlay feature builds on a deeper tool Tesla released earlier — a full “black box” telemetry visualizer that lets owners decode and sync every piece of vehicle data with dashcam footage.

Previously, this data was only visible inside the car's Dashcam Viewer. Now, the information is baked into the video file itself for easier insurance claims or evidence.

4. From "Dog Mode" to "Pet Mode"

Tesla is making its cabin climate feature more inclusive. "Dog Mode" has officially been renamed to "Pet Mode" in the app's climate interface.

While the name is live now, the full features arrive with vehicle software 2026.14. The update will add new avatars for cats and hedgehogs. You can also customize the display to show your pet's specific name on the center screen.

5. AI Powerwall Status and Earth Day

For energy customers, the app now features AI-driven Powerwall status. This system explains "the why" behind your battery's behavior. For example, it might notify you that it is discharging at 2:45 PM to avoid a high utility rate of $0.52 per kWh.

Finally, keep an eye out for the Earth Day Charging Passport coming on April 22. Tesla is expected to showcase charging stats that highlight how much CO2 your vehicle and the global fleet have saved.

Note:Most features in App 4.55.7 require your vehicle to be running software version 2026.14. Please keep your car updated to enjoy the full experience.
