   Tesla has officially unveiled the new Model Y Performance variant. This top-tier version debuts in European and Middle Eastern markets. It features comprehensive upgrades to powertrain, suspension, and design. North American availability will follow at a later date.

1. Performance Upgrades: Acceleration and Top Speed

   The new Model Y Performance features a dual-motor powertrain. It accelerates from 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) in just 3.5 seconds. Top speed reaches 155 mph (250 km/h).

   This represents a 1.3-second improvement over Long Range AWD models. Top speed increases by 30 mph (49 km/h). While Tesla hasn't released official power figures, reports indicate 460 horsepower.

2. Battery and Range Efficiency

   The Performance variant uses higher-density battery cells. It achieves 360 miles (580 km) under WLTP testing standards. This is just 4 miles less than the Long Range version.

Battery capacity has been increased for better performance. Specific capacity details remain undisclosed by Tesla.

3. Exterior and Chassis Enhancements

The Performance model features aggressive body styling. Updates include:

  • Redesigned front and rear bumpers
  • Carbon fiber rear spoiler
  • Improved aerodynamics and downforce

Chassis improvements include:

  • Adaptive suspension system
  • Multiple driving modes
  • 5.94-inch (151 mm) ground clearance
  • 4,482 lb (2,033 kg) curb weight

The suspension lowers the vehicle by 0.62 inches (16 mm). Weight increases by 79 lb (36 kg) over dual-motor models.

5. Pricing and Market Availability

The Model Y Performance launches in Europe, Middle East, and Africa. Starting price is approximately $72,000 (€61,990). This represents a $10,500 (€9,000) premium over Long Range AWD.

   First deliveries begin in September 2025. North American release timing remains unannounced.
