Tesla has announced significant updates to its Wheel and Tire Protection Plan (WTPP). The program now features monthly subscription options, extended coverage terms, and broader eligibility requirements. These changes make tire protection more accessible to Tesla owners.
1. Coverage and Eligibility
The WTPP covers damage caused by road hazards. This includes potholes and debris that cause tire punctures or wheel damage.
What's covered:

Wheel damage from road hazards
Immediate protection upon subscription
What's not covered:

The plan is no longer just for new vehicles. Cars used for over 30 days can still qualify. Requirements include:
Tires must be purchased from Tesla
Or tires purchased within past 30 days
Tire tread depth must be above 75%
2. Subscription Options and Pricing
Users can now choose subscription periods up to 24 months. Previously only 12-month options were available.

The protection begins immediately upon subscription. Plans automatically renew monthly. This flexibility helps manage short-term cost pressure.
This update follows Tesla's initial WTPP introduction. It expands coverage to more users. The program offers risk distribution for repair costs.
It's particularly suitable for specific usage conditions. Choose based on your driving environment, vehicle configuration, and maintenance habits.
