Tesla has announced a limited-time Full Self-Driving (Supervised) transfer program starting April 24, 2025. This initiative aims to reduce upgrade costs and ensure continuity of intelligent driving features for Tesla owners.

2.How to Transfer FSD

The FSD transfer process is integrated into Tesla's ordering system. Here's a step-by-step guide:

Ordering Process

  1. When ordering your new Tesla, do not select FSD as an option
  2. Complete the order and pay the required deposit
  3. Wait for your new vehicle to appear in the Tesla app
    1. This typically happens within a few seconds
    2. Ensure your Tesla app is up to date

Transfer Steps in Tesla App

  1. Navigate to the vehicle setup process (Step 4 of 9)
  2. Respond to the trade-in question (either Yes or No)
  3. On the next screen, you'll see the FSD Transfer option
  4. If you own multiple vehicles with FSD:
    1. You'll be able to select which vehicle to transfer from
    2. The system will display the VIN of each eligible vehicle
  5. Select your preferred vehicle and confirm the transfer

Important Tips

  • Keep your Tesla app updated to the latest version
  • Ensure both vehicles are on the same Tesla account
  • The transfer option appears automatically if you're eligible
  • The process is completed entirely through the Tesla app

3. Eligibility Requirements

Delivery Timing

- New Tesla vehicle must be delivered on or after April 24, 2025

- Delivery must occur before the program ends
