Managing your Tesla's dashcam footage just got a massive upgrade. Alongside software version 2026.20, Tesla has officially launched a new web-based dashboard at dashcam.tesla.com, allowing you to view and decrypt your recordings directly in your browser.

1. The New Online Viewer

This tool simplifies the process of reviewing driving data without needing third-party software. The interface is designed to mimic the in-car experience, making it incredibly intuitive.
You can simply drag and drop your video files into the browser. The system automatically organizes them by timestamp and merges footage from all four cameras into a synchronized grid view, just like the Tesla theater experience.
2. Enhanced Privacy and Encryption
With this update, Tesla has introduced automatic encryption for dashcam clips. Your recordings are now linked to your Tesla account credentials.
Security: Encrypted files cannot be played on unauthorized devices, even if your USB drive is stolen.
Local Processing: All video decryption and processing happen locally on your computer—no footage is uploaded to Tesla's servers.
Flexibility: If you prefer to opt-out, you can disable encryption via Controls > Safety in your vehicle settings.
3. How to Manage Your Footage

This web tool is the perfect companion to recent improvements in storage capacity. As previously highlighted in our guide on extended dashcam recording limits, you can now store up to 24 hours of driving footage on a 1TB+ USB drive.
